Aarhus-based digital learning house Cadpeople is now entering the defense industry. The company has teamed up with engineering house idoc to establish idoc Simulation & Training. The new company, which will develop digital training and simulation solutions for the Danish Armed Forces and the defense industry, will be based in Aalborg.

The partnership comes at a time when Europe’s defense investments are growing as a result of the war in Ukraine, rising tensions in the Arctic and increased NATO requirements. More advanced equipment and more complex systems increase the need for efficient, targeted and scalable training of soldiers.

“From our experience with the largest defense manufacturers in the world, it is natural for us to strengthen technical development. The need for advanced digital solutions is increasing,” says Marc Damgaard, Head of National Defense at idoc and CEO of idoc Simulation & Training.

Technical training and operational simulations

idoc Simulation & Training will offer solutions ranging from simple equipment knowledge to advanced operational scenarios. The goal is to use digital learning to optimize training, especially when access to equipment, instructors and training time is limited.

According to the partners, digitizing technical documentation and developing realistic simulation environments can increase efficiency, reduce costs and strengthen operational readiness.

“With idoc Simulation & Training, we are taking a strategic step towards delivering the next generation of digital training. We combine our expertise in creating effective learning experiences with a deep understanding of military requirements so that digital training for defense can achieve maximum impact.” Nikolaj Have, CTO and Partner at Cadpeople and Chairman of the Board at idoc Simulation & Training.

The Danish defense has already started using digital training tools such as interactive army maps and this development is expected to continue. The new company is therefore already in dialogue with leading manufacturers of defense equipment and has several projects in planning, according to the press release.
